VONA Case Management, Inc. staff and family members had a busy evening at Prodisee Pantry in Spanish Fort yesterday. Some of our VONA staff in south Alabama brought their friends and family members to load boxes of non-perishable food items at Prodisee Pantry.
Prodisee Pantry disburses these food boxes every Tuesday morning to local families who are struggling to purchase food. This is not the first time VONA has donated their time and talents to this wonderful organization. “I want to challenge other local businesses and families in our community who have the time to volunteer at Prodisee Pantry. The needs in our local community are greater than non-profit organizations like Prodisee Pantry can actually fulfill,” said VONA’s CEO, Ryan Shirley. Anyone in the community can participate by loading boxes of non-perishable items every Wednesday night from 6:00-7:30 p.m.
Prodisee Pantry is a non-profit community ministry providing emergency food and disaster relief. Families who are having trouble making ends meet are given food assistance and additional information from a caring listener about other programs that may help to make their lives more stable. The Pantry provides food to single parents, homeless persons, retirees, families in transition, under-employed and unemployed households, grandparents raising grandchildren and others in need.
